The Senior Director, Regional Customer Team, leads the Regional Customer Director team responsible for identifying & developing KEE advocacy, generating disease and brand specific insights, co-leading national/regional/local congresses, identifying and coaching brand speakers and leading advisory boards across the Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism (CVRM) portfolio.  

This role builds the strategy and leads the Regional Customer Directors in working with multiple stakeholders and partners at headquarters, including the Brand team, Sales, Market Access, and Medical Affairs. Collaborating nationally as well as at the area and regional level, the Senior Director identifies and develops current and future Key External Experts (KEE) in CVRM for activities based on commercial value, driving greater engagement and advocacy while informing insights and brand strategy for the CVRM franchise. 

What you'll do 

  • Provide strategic direction to the team of Regional Customer Directors and Marketing Managers/Associate Directors responsible for HCP Scientific Communications. 
  • Build the KEE engagement and lead the development of the cross functional KEE Advocacy Plan for US KEEs. 
  • Ensure a robust depth of connection with CVRM Commercial Key External Expert relationships at the national, regional, and area level. 
  • Proactively identify opportunities in the identification and development of future KEEs and influencers (up-and-comers). 
  • Co-develop the National Congress strategy for CVRM with the marketing team and oversee all KEE engagement at Congresses. 
  • Ensure Regional plans are developed, compliant, and aligned with the Medical, Marketing, and Sales strategies for the brands, including product theaters, speaker programs, booths, and ESE interactions. 
  • Utilize input from KEEs to help build market leadership, advocacy, and commercial strategies through appropriate tactics such as Ad Boards, Virtual Community, Expert Panels, Speaker programs, Product Theaters, Symposiums, Consulting agreements, and 1:1 engagement. 

Strategic Partner 

  • Deliver successful project leadership that brings value back to the Brands, AstraZeneca, KEEs and the Regional Customer Director team. 
  • Ensure the team develops KEE Engagement plans for targeted customers. 
  • Manage senior stakeholders by collaborating and working in close partnership with internal partners across Sales, Brand Teams, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Global, ensuring the franchise has a market leadership presence with HCPs and in the key accounts where we hold KEE relationships. 
  • Share pertinent insights back to the Executive Director, the Marketing Team, the Customer Director team, and other key stakeholders and partners. 
  • Reconcile strategic priorities and activity plans across CVRM brands to effectively show up as one US CVRM team to US KEEs 
  • Provide team leadership for the RCD team that ensures alignment with strategic priorities. 
  • Foster an environment that allows for growth and development of the team. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required. 
  • Previous experience across multiple functions, including Sales, District Sales Manager, Commercial Business Director, Brand/Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Operations, and/or Medical Affairs. 
  • Line management experience. 
  • Clinical experience in Cardiovascular, Renal, and/or Metabolic disease (CVRM). 
  • Previous experience building, implementing, and executing project plans, programs, and related activities. 
  • 10+ years' work experience in pharmaceutical or biotech. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • A team-first leader who will flourish in a collaborative environment and work to foster and encourage a culture of collaboration across their team. 
  • This is a remote role. Candidate should live close to a major airport.  Travel is required in this role (approximately 40–50%). 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Advanced degree in related field 
  • Established relationships with Key External Experts in the CVRM space (Cardiology, Nephrology, and/or Endocrinology) are strongly preferred. 

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $ 231,988.80 - 347,983.20 USD. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
